In this program, you will learn about tea culture, watch a simple tea preparation, and make your own bowl of matcha.

Omotesenke AITA School – Tea Ceremony Experience

Experience Course 1

Enjoy traditional sweets and matcha, and experience both roles of guest and tea preparer in a short session.

Duration: about 40 minutes
Price:

• ¥3,500 per person (for groups of 3 or more)

• ¥7,000 per person (for 1–2 guests)

• Children under 12: ¥2,000

Experience Course 2

Watch a formal tea preparation and experience the role of a guest while enjoying
seasonal wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets) and matcha.

Duration: about 40 minutes
Price:

• ¥6,000 per person (for groups of 5 or more)

• ¥10,000 per person (for 1–2 guests)

• Children under 12: ¥3,000

Experience Course 3

Watch the tea preparation, experience being a guest (with sweets and matcha),
and also try making your own matcha using a bamboo whisk (chasen).

Duration: about 90 minutes
Price:

• ¥7,000 per person (for groups of 5 or more)

• ¥12,000 per person (for 1–2 guests)
